Why it is important doing physical exercise?


Doing physical exercise has always been an important factor for mental and physical health of every human being. It is said that doing sports four or five days a week helps the functionality of the organism, prevents illness, diseases, helps the reduction of blood pressure…

But it is not used only to help physically, it is also used to improve mental health. It has positive effects on self-confidence, relationships with others and alleviates psychological diseases such as depression and anxiety.


For disable people works the same, helps them to develop skills helpful for their daily life and social integration. It is very important for them to do physical exercise due to all the improvements it develops to their organism and mental health. It provides opportunities for an environment where they can develop crucial skills that teach them the importance of working with teammates or the capacity or not giving up when they have an objective.


 

Mental health, the importance and their benefits for disable people

Having a good mental health, has lots of advantages that for disable people are very important. It provides values such as not giving up, being brave and strong, self-confidence…


And it also has psychological benefits such as:

-Reduce depression

-Reduce anxiety

-Reduce stress

-Less anger, aggressiveness

-Increases well-being


For people with mental disability, the combination of doing sports and a good therapies improves their physical movement as mental skills. The person which a mental disease develops characteristics fundamental of teamwork, what it is really helpful due it is a sign of integration. And nowadays it is very important to make action and to collaborate to social integration.

Paula, a fourteen years old girl, was born with down syndrome and multiple health diseases. Since she was a baby she has been in many important surgeries, unlike others down cases, she has lots of difficulties to live a normal life. For Paula’s family it is always a continuous fight, and it is a good example of self-improvement everyday.














Paula's family really enjoy taking her to do all types of activities, especially the ones that involves sports. She really likes dancing and horse riding. In these types of activities Paula has the opportunity of developing communication and physical skills, that are crucial for her daily life due the diseases she suffers.
